Tennis Lesson Plan
The first few tennis lessons with me
will involve groundstrokes as well as
other shots like the serve, volley and much more.

Once players have taken a few tennis lessons;

I will introduce matchplay rules
and matchplay tactics
by working on direction work,
shot placement and consistency.
Tennis Grips
The first few lessons will introduce players to
different types of tennis grips.

These grips include the standard forehand grip
known as an eastern forehand grip.

As for the backhand grip, it depends on whether
you hold a two-handed or one-handed backhand.

When starting out, I encourage players to start
with a two-handed backhand to learn an optimal swing path
for more consistency and control over the ball.

Using the correct tennis grips allow for more comfort
with time and additionally will make power and
control more achievable and natural.

This is especially important for the serve grip
also known as the continental grip or other names
like chopper grip, hammer grip or volley/serve grip.
Tennis Matchplay
Rules & Tactics
After the first few lessons, I will introduce the rules of
how to play a tennis match so that players
better understand the game so that decision-making
during a point becomes easier and improves.

Once players have learnt the rules of the game,
I will create tennis drills that introduce
direction work and shot placement to build a point up
without making mistakes right away.

My tennis drills will have a singles
and doubles match in mind.
